Etheridge,
Neil Diamond,
Steve Lukather,
Al Di Meola
and Raymond
Voss (Torfrock).
Ovation was
the first
manufacturer of electric
guitars with
piezo-electric
pickups who
were and
is still
the market
leader in
the electro-acoustic
guitars.
Characteristic
of an
ovation
is
the so-called
Round Back,
an arched back
of a special
fiber-plastic
composite material.
The company
founder Charles
Kaman built
helicopters.
He was a hobby
musician and
developed in
1964 with
some of
its engineers a
guitar,
where he high-tech
materials combined
with a wooden
ceiling,
and a
high stability
of the instrument
was coupled
with a balanced
sound.
In addition to
the special
body was
the higher priced
segment "Adamas"
for the
ceiling of
the guitars
used.
The
