Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper (born February 4, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, born Vincent Damon Furnier, after a name change officially Alice Cooper) is an American rock musician. Originally, "Alice Cooper" is the name of his band.

Alice Cooper is one of the pioneers of today's popular elaborate stage shows in rock music. By the time the provocative lyrics of his songs and his spectacular and theatrical performances, during which he was put in straight jackets, and simulated his execution by beheading or on the gallows, he reached, especially in the 1970s and 1980s, a mass audience. Many albums of Alice Cooper were commercially very successful.

Many musicians and bands such as Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Marilyn Manson, GWAR, and Lordi were influenced by Cooper's music and his show.

Cooper, for his financial support, received from the liberal Christian Grand Canyon University in Phoenix (Arizona) in May 2004 the honorary degree "Doctor of Music"award.

* Alice Cooper was a guest at WrestleMania 3, and accompanied the wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts to his match.

* Alice Cooper appeared in many movies as a guest star. His (mostly horror) films include The Prince of Darkness by John Carpenter and the sixth part of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. In the latter, he played Freddy's father.

* As the protagonist Vincent Raven Alice Cooper is in the Spanish low-budget horror movie "Monster Dog (Leviathan)" from the year 1985.

 * He played himself in Wayne's World, he is in an episode of The Wild Seventies, and in the lesser-known film Roadie, where Meat Loaf in the role of roadie Trawis W. Redfish has his hands full, to fulfill his lady's desire to meet Alice Cooper personally.

* Alice Cooper served as a template for the character Frank-N-Furter in Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

* Alice Cooper is a passionate golfer - in June 2008 he told a radio interviewer RST radio that he played almost always par. He has a handicap of 3

* Alice Cooper, contrary to his image is a devout Christian, who walks with his children every Sunday morning to church. He is also chairman of the Christian Foundation Solid Rock Foundation, for which he also collects donations.

* In the recording of the London production of the hard rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar Alice Cooper sings the role of King Herod.

* On the album "Welcome to My Nightmare" the U.S. film star and stage actor Vincent Price (1911-1993) said the intro to the song "The Black Widow". Cooper and Price combined since this cooperation a good friendship.

* In addition to several renowned guest appearances for releases of several bands like Guns N 'Roses - The Garden, Twisted Sister - Be Cruel To Your School Cooper said also the intro of The Great Milenko Insane Clown Posse.

* He had in the television series Monk a guest role, where he plays himself, but does not speak.

* His song "I Am the Future" is the title song of the movie The class of 1984.

* His song "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)" is the title song of the horror movie Friday the 13th Part VI (Paramount Pictures / MCA Records (C) 1986

* Alice Cooper is one of the sponsors of the famous Hollywood sign. 

* In 1995, the comic author Neil Gaiman with the artist Michael Zulli made the Comic "Alice Cooper - The Last Temptation," based on the published CD "The Last Temptation". In this occurs, the fictional character Alice Cooper in the role of a soul-collecting Variety Director.

* Since October 22 2009 Alice Cooper is the new testimonial of the electric Saturn chain.

* 2010 is Alice Cooper occasional guest presenter at the Berlin radio station Star FM. Previously, he hosted a regular there for some time Friday night, the program "A night with Alice Cooper."
