Andy Timmons is perhaps one of the most versatile guitarists in the world.
Until 1993, guitarist of Danger Danger, Andy has toured the world,
opening for Kiss and Alice Cooper, sold over a million albums and had two
No. 1 videos on MTV.
As a session guitarist he is highlighted on CDs of the legendary
drummer Simon Phillips, as well as a live CD by Olivia Newton-John (Andy
was not only her guitar player but also her musical supervisor for
several of her concerts in the U.S.). He worked on two internationally
acclaimed CDs with Kip Winger, and made recordings for Paula Abdul, Paul
Stanley, as well as countless radio and television jingles.
Andy's musical career began in his hometown of Evansville in Indiana at
the age of 13 years and with his first band, Taylor Bay. "Early on I
noticed that the progress is slow on a rock band and I better choose
another way for a guitarist's career. So I started to read a lot about
Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton, to master their lives as a studio
musician."
With the decision to work in the studio also began a serious phase of
training. He studied two years of classical guitar before moving to Miami
in order to attend the University of Miami (the largest of its kind, since
its members include Dixie Dregs, Pat Metheny, and Jaco Pastorius) to study
jazz guitar.
