  AC/DC

AC / DC are an Australian rock band, founded on December 31 1973 by Scotland-born brothers Angus and Malcolm Young.
The band members already changed before publication of their first album High Voltage in 1975, when singer Dave Evans was replaced in the fall of 1974 by Bon Scott. 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Shortly thereafter, the lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on  February 19 1980. The group was then thinking about quitting, until  former Geordie singer Brian Johnson was hired as Scott's replacement. A little later the band released their best selling album, Back in Black.

AC / DC has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, including 69 million albums in the United States.  Back in Black, the world's second-selling album in history with an estimated 49 million units sold, including in the U.S. alone 22 million.  It's also in the U.S. so far one of the best-selling albums. AC / DC is on VH1's list of "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock bands" at No. 4 and seventh on the list of "best heavy metal bands of all time" by MTV. In 2004 the band was selected number 72 in the Rolling Stone list of the 100 best artists.
