The Beatles had more number 1 singles than any other groups or singers (22 in the U.S., 23 in Australia, 23 in the Netherlands, 22 in Canada, 21 in Norway, 18 in Sweden, 12 in Germany). Another No. 1 hit prevented by the Beatles themselves, as they released Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever together as a double A-single. This meant that the sales figures and radio links between the two songs were shared. So they missed the top spot in the UK charts. The Beatles had more number 1 albums than any other individual artists and groups (19 in the U.S. and 15 in the UK). The Beatles spent the most weeks at number one counted in the album charts (132 in the U.S. and 174 in Great Britain). The five titles were Don't Buy Me Love, Twist and Shout, She Loves You, I Want to Hold Your Hand and Please Please Me In the week of April 11 1964 the Beatles held fourteen places on the Billboard Hot 100. Before the Beatles nine was the highest number of titles by an artist in the Hot 100 at once (Elvis Presley, December 19, 1956). The Beatles were the only ones who switched themselves twice in the first place on the Billboard Hot 100. They managed that in the beginning of 1964. I Want to Hold Your Hand was followed by She Loves You , and came to Can't Buy Me Love to number 1. The Beatles were the first to have recorded a song for a worldwide television broadcast. This took place with the participation of 26 countries held on June 25 1967 and had 600 million viewers worldwide. Each country made a contribution, so people were able to experience a birth in Mexico. In England, the Beatles song All You Need Is Love was recorded live, in the Studio 1 at Abbey Road Studios, where they recorded from 1962 to 1970, most of their titles. Many friends of the Beatles sang at the end of the song when it was slowly vanishing, for example, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Marianne Faithfull, Eric Clapton and Keith Moon. In the U.S. they were rewarded on June 14 2005 for the sixth time with a Diamond Award, which the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awards for more than ten million albums sold in the United States. Which in 2000 released a Greatest Hits compilation had exceeded that impressive statistic recently. The US's best-selling Beatles album is still published in 1968 The Beatles ("White Album").
