The international breakthrough came in 1999 with the five times platinum album Enemy of the State, the single from All the Small Things, and last but not least the scandal hit video What's My Age Again? "In which they ran naked through a city. All subsequent albums and Dude Ranch reached the platinum status. After four platinum albums and countless awards, the band decided in 2005 to break up. Tom DeLonge formed the band Angels & Airwaves, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker went playing together at +44. In February 2009, they reunited again.
