Nazareth, a Scottish rock band, was founded in 1968.
Almost simultaneously with other bands of the first Hard
Rock-generation such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Black
Sabbath, the band was instrumental in the character of the Hard Rock and
also laid a foundation stone for the years later emerging heavy metal.
Their best-known albums are from 1973 Razamanaz Loud'n'proud and Hair Of
The Dog from 1975. The band members were also active in numerous solo
projects. With nearly 40 million albums sold world wide, they are together
with Simple Minds, the internationally known band from Scotland.
