The Stone Temple Pilots are a native American
rock band from San Diego, California. They were well known during
the heyday of grunge. They were founded in 1992. The band broke up in
2003, but reunited in the spring of 2008.
Their first five albums have been sold in the U.S. alone, over 17
million times, the band achieved 15 top ten singles on the Billboard rock
charts, including six number # 1 hits. The 1994 album Purple reached
number # 1 on the Billboard pop charts. STP won the 1994 Grammy for Best
Hard Rock Performance with Vocal, for the title Plush, from the album
Core.
