The instruments of B.C. Rich in American manufacturing rank in the upper class and are an alternative to the guitar manufacturer Paul Reed Smith, Gibson, Dean, Alembic, etc.
Expensive and ambitious are the hand-made models of U.S. production, particularly from the 70s and early 80s. The old vintage instruments (Neck through construction, noble materials and other special equipment features) are very popular with collectors. The B.C. Rich Custom Shop was then headed by Neal Moser. Neal Moser developed the model "Bich" with its striking body shape, with either six or ten strings, and its sophisticated active electronics for sound modification.
The instruments of the NJ series made it big in Japan and have a price corresponding to the good workmanship, playability and sound quality. In particular, the models from the early and middle 1980s, have an incredibly high quality, but are now very difficult to get.
