Bruno Mars was born on October 8, 1985 as Peter Hernandez
in Waikiki, a suburb of Honolulu in Hawaii. His mother comes from the
Philippines and his father from Puerto Rico. Bruno is one of six
children and comes from a musical family who taught him many musical
styles of reggae, rock, hip hop and R & B.
He went to President Theodore Roosevelt High School, where he finished
in 2003 at the age of 17 years. He then moved to Los Angeles to begin a
musical career. His stage name was Bruno Mars, derived from the wrestler
Bruno Sammartino, because as a small child he had a strong physique. Mars
was a banter in the studio when he said he was not of this world.
Bruno Mars was riding high when his first album, Doo-Wops &
