| Cage the Elephant is an American rock band from
Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Daniel Tichenor, bass, vocal
Lincoln Parish, guitar
In the beginning the band was made out of the brothers Matt and Brad
Shultz and Jared Champion, who already knew each other from school. Later
Parish joined on the guitar, and then bassist Tichenor. At first they only
played in their home town in Kentucky before coming to a gig at
South-By-South-West Festival in Texas. There, they attracted so much
attention especially London, UK was interested in the rock band.
The five musicians moved in autumn 2007 into the British capital. In no
time they recorded their debut album with the band's name as the title.
After their third single release Ain't No Rest for the Wicked in June
2008, they entered the British Top 40, the album was also in the charts.
The song was chosen by Gearbox for the video game Borderlands as a
soundtrack.
The single "In One Ear" is part of the soundtrack of the 2009
published mountain bike film "New World Disorder 10 - Dust and
Bones".
The second studio album, "Thank you, Happy Birthday" will
appear on January 2011
