Cage the Elephant

Cage the Elephant is an American rock band from Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Bandmembers:

Matt Schultz, vocal

Brad Schultz, guitar

Jared Champion, drums

Daniel Tichenor, bass, vocal

Lincoln Parish, guitar

In the beginning the band was made out of the brothers Matt and Brad Shultz and Jared Champion, who already knew each other from school. Later Parish joined on the guitar, and then bassist Tichenor. At first they only played in their home town in Kentucky before coming to a gig at South-By-South-West Festival in Texas. There, they attracted so much attention especially London, UK was interested in the rock band.

The five musicians moved in autumn 2007 into the British capital. In no time they recorded their debut album with the band's name as the title. After their third single release Ain't No Rest for the Wicked in June 2008, they entered the British Top 40, the album was also in the charts. The song was chosen by Gearbox for the video game Borderlands as a soundtrack.

The single "In One Ear" is part of the soundtrack of the 2009 published mountain bike film "New World Disorder 10 - Dust and Bones".

The second studio album, "Thank you, Happy Birthday" will appear on January 2011

Cage The Elephant  (2009)

Based on the herky-jerky single "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked," which did well on the U.K. singles chart, Kentucky's Cage the Elephant enjoyed a flush of success their first time out. Their 2008 debut combines jam-band earthiness with powerhouse ...
