Dimmu Borgir is a metal band
from Norway. They were founded in 1993. The name is derived from the
volcanic Dimmuborgir in Iceland. In Icelandic it means something like
"Dark Castle" or "Dark Cities". Due to several
European chart positions, Dimmu Borgir are known far beyond the scene
boundaries.
