In a nutshell, the Godin A11 Glissentar Electric Guitar is an 11-string, fretless, acoustic-electric instrument, strung with nylon strings and tuned to standard guitar tuning. Made to allow effortless mixing of Eastern and Western music, the Godin Glissentar is a creative blending of a guitar and an oud. All of its basic physical features scale length, body size, depth, fingerboard radius, and string height are standard guitar dimensions. The Eastern influence in the Glissentar A11 comes from the oud, an 11-string fretless lute still in use today throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Adapting to this new instrument is actually a great deal easier than it appears, with its familiar guitar-like feel and easily visible side position markers. The Glissentar A11 opens the door to microtonal playing as well as some incredible and unique sounds for adventurous musicians.

The Godin xtSA Electric Guitar with Synth Access delivers big-time electric sounds via the Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration and 5-way switching setup. Extra meaty humbucker tones co-exist with glassy split-coil sounds in the second and fourth positions. Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the RMC transducer saddles and the xtSA becomes an incredibly authentic-sounding "acoustic" guitar, enhanced by an onboard preamp with 3-band EQ. The electric and acoustic voices can be blended using a single patch cord or at the mixer/amp using both outputs. A built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices.

The Godin xtSA guitar incorporates the same 25-1/2" scale and mahogany neck used on the LGX-SA guitar (Product #511919). The ebony fingerboard is shaped with Godin's ergocut technique and equipped with medium jumbo frets. The body has a silverleaf maple center with poplar wings and is decorated with a figured maple veneer on top.
