Iron Maiden is a British music group that was
founded in 1975. Their music is based on the hard rock, and heavy metal
music of the 1970s, their own style of Heavy Metal mixed in, in the 1980s.
Their eponymous debut album "Iron Maiden" was first published in
1980.
The group is associated with bands such as Saxon, Angel Witch, Praying
Mantis, Diamond Head, Tygers Of Pan Tang, and Def
Leppard of the so-called New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
Since the 1980s, Iron Maiden are one of the most enduring and
commercially successful metal bands. Their music was influential and
important style for subsequent bands of different metal sub genres. The
band, whose mascot Eddie is, has sold over 80 million records.
