The Martin Madagascar/Alpine Custom OM Acoustic guitar
is our exclusive! Featuring a solid Alpine spruce top and Madagascar
rosewood back and sides this custom OM is well balanced with a warm,
sweet tone that's ideal for fingerstyle playing. Alpine spruce is the
same tonewood that has graced the tops of some of the world's most
legendary violins.
The premium tonewood construction includes a solid
Adirondack spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides, resulting
in sound that's unusually powerful and clear at any volume level.
Adirondack spruce is a rare, much sought-after yet hard to find wood
that Martin is able to procure in small quantities thanks to new
sustainable forestry practices. This custom dreadnought's rich, bold
sound exemplifies the traditional Martin tone.
The appointments show meticulous attention to detail yet are in keeping
with an instrument that's simply elegant in design. Mother-of-pearl dot
inlays are set into the ebony fingerboard on the easy-playing,
low-profile solid mahogany neck. Martin's traditional X- and scalloped
bracing patterns are used in the instrument's architecture to produce a
light yet incredibly strong guitar.
Ritchie selected an OM body style for the 6-string
limited edition Martin acoustic-electric guitar bearing his name. With a
rounded cutaway, the OMC-41 offers balanced tone and outstanding access
to the upper frets. The premium solid tonewoods chosen also show a
connoisseur's appreciation for tone: tops of Italian alpine spruce for
brilliance and richness, and backs and sides of Madagascar rosewood, the
tone-wood considered by many to be closest in appearance, projection and
clarity to now-rare Brazilian rosewood.
Appointments selected and created for this guitar are equally stunning.
The Style 41 top abalone inlay, stands out against the top's unique
vintage tobacco (yellow to brown) Sambora" sunburst. Top, back,
headplate and fingerboard are bound in grained ivoroid, and all but the
top feature inset black/white fine line inlays. The grained ivoroid end
piece and heelcap have identical black/white fine line accents. The
distinctive pyramid belly bridge with Stauffer point is carved from
black African ebony. A black polished and beveled pickguard protects the
top.
Unique inlays highlight both the black African ebony fingerboard and
headplate. Beginning at the 1st fret and continuing to the 17th, small
abalone hexagon position markers on the fingerboard are bordered with
exclusive mother of pearl, which are in turn accented on both sides by
delicate black line inlays. Richie Sambora's inlaid signature appears
between the 19th and 20th frets. The headplate showcases an exclusive
heart and cross" Martin torch inlay in abalone and mother of pearl
inspired by a bracelet designed by Richie Sambora's wife, actress
Heather Locklear.
A low profile neck, (1-11/16") diamond volutes at the base of the
headstock and the Martin stamp on the back combines a modern feel with
classic appearance. Gotoh gold tuning machines with small knobs, and a
bone nut and compensated TUSQ saddle provide smooth tuning and precise
intonation. The bridge pins and endpin are fashioned from fossilized
ivory and topped by colorful pearl dots.
Each Martin OMC-41 Sambora Signature Edition guitar comes with an
interior label personally signed by Richie Sambora and C. F. Martin IV.
In addition, each guitar will be individually numbered in sequence with
the edition total. The edition size of either model will not exceed two
hundred instruments
The Martin M-42 David Bromberg Signature Edition
Acoustic Guitar boasts solid premium tonewoods throughout. Features a
rare - especially in this width - Italian alpine spruce top. Back and
sides are of East Indian rosewood. A low profile neck of genuine
mahogany and fingerboard and bridge of African black ebony complete the
guitar. Forward-shifted and scalloped 5/16" top braces provide
impressive clarity and dynamic range.
Style 45 appointments abound on this handsome instrument. Style 45
abalone pearl inlay around the top and fingerboard extension are matched
by the abalone pearl Style 45 rosette. A Style 45 multicolored mosaic
backstrip divides the two-piece back. Bridge pins and endpin both also
are Style 45, with abalone dot inlays.
In keeping with the archtop features on Bromberg's original guitar, the
M-42 David Bromberg Signature Edition's East Indian rosewood headplate
bears a 1930s style "C. F. Martin" block letter inlay in
abalone pearl and goldplated enclosed tuners with large gold knobs.
Style 45 snowflake position markers are centered between F-9 Style
white/black/white "racing stripe" inlays that run the length
of the fingerboard. David Bromberg's signature is inlaid between the
19th and 20th frets.
Classic grained ivoroid binding and elegantly mitered black/white
purfling are everywhere on this guitar: top, sides, back, headstock and
fingerboard. The grained ivoroid end piece and heelcap display matching
fine line inlays. The guitar is finished in polished gloss lacquer, with
aging toner on the top to enhance the vintage vibe. A polished and
beveled tortoise-color pickguard protects the top. Delivered in a
vintage-inspired Geib style case, each M-42 David Bromberg Signature
Edition guitar bears an interior label personally signed by David
Bromberg and Martin Chairman C. F. Martin IV and is numbered in sequence
together with the edition total.
For the new 000-40S Signature Edition bearing his
name, Mark selected Martin's traditional 000 12-fret body style with the
long 25.4" scale, considered by many to be among the most beautiful
and best sounding designs Martin ever made. Many of the elements that
make the Martin 000 12-fret guitars from the late 1920s so prized are
here: the 1-13/16" wide (at the nut) modified V-shape neck, the
slotted tapered headstock with squared slots and diamond volute, the Old
Style pointed heel, the forwardshifted 1/4" scalloped top bracing,
the pyramid bridge with 2-5/16" string spacing and the absence of a
pickguard. The nut, saddle, bridge pins and endpin, the latter two
topped with black dots, are all crafted from fossilized ivory. Aging
toner on the top is reminiscent of vintage patina, and handsome Waverly/Sloane
side-mounted tuners with engraved plates and ivoroid buttons show
similar vintage style.
In tonewoods and ornamentation, the new Mark Knopfler Signature Edition
000 bears a striking resemblance to his Signature Edition Dreadnought.
Premium solid tonewoods are featured throughout. The body combines a top
of rare Italian alpine spruce (the same wood used by Antonio Stradivari)
with back and sides of beautiful East Indian rosewood. The neck is
carved from genuine mahogany, while the fingerboard and bridge are
crafted from African black ebony. Both body and neck are protected by
Martin's beautiful polished gloss lacquer finish.
Like the HD-40MK, the eye-catching rosette on the 000 showcases a center
ring of pearl diamond" inlays, a feature inspired by a unique
rosette seen on some Martins from the 1840s. Bold herringbone inlay
encircles the top, and herringbone inlay bisects the back, which is
bound with fine black/white inlay. Top, sides and back are bound in
grained ivoroid; matching grained ivoroid also highlights the endpiece
and heelcap.
On the neck, both the headstock and fingerboard feature grained ivoroid
binding against mitered black/white fine line inlays. The polished East
Indian headplate showcases the familiar C. F. Martin" logo inlaid
in brilliant mother of pearl. Fretted with jumbo frets, the fingerboard
is inlaid with original Style 42 position markers in abalone pearl. Mark
Knopfler's unique signature is inlaid in mother of pearl between the
18th and 20th frets.
The 000-40S Mark Knopfler Ragpicker's Dream" Signature Edition is
delivered in a Geib style Vintage Series hardshell case with plush
Cabernet (dark red, for those who don't know wine) interior. Each
000-40S Mark Knopfler Ragpicker's Dream" Signature Edition bears an
interior label personally signed by Mark Knopfler and Martin Chairman C.
F. Martin IV and is numbered in sequence with the edition total, as well
as a special Ragpicker's Dream" designation laser etched on the
neck block.
Revived after Eric Clapton's legendary performance on
MTV Unplugged, the short-scale 14-fret 000-42 has reclaimed its
well-deserved position in the Martin line. This special Marquis version
combines East Indian rosewood back and sides and headplate with 1937
Golden Era features that include an Adirondack spruce soundboard, with
original vintage Style 42 snowflake fingerboard inlays, a square tapered
headstock with Golden Era decal, plus open-geared nickel tuning
machines. With uncompromised tone, this Martin acoustic guitar
epitomizes musical expressiveness.
Like the original 1916 model, the Ditson Dreadnought
111 Acoustic Guitar features genuine mahogany back and sides, an
Adirondack spruce top, Brazilian rosewood headplate and binding, ebony
pyramid bridge, ebony fingerboard with graduated position markers at the
5th, 7th, and 9th, frets and a 1-7/8" nut width. The exact details
of Ditson's unique single ring wood rosette have been recreated. Special
three-in-line Waverly tuners on the slotted headstock are true to the
original look and feel. The original "Oliver Ditson Co., Boston,
New york" stamp created in 1916 was retrieved from the Martin
archives and used on the back of the headstock and centerstrip inside
the guitar.
The JC Buddy Guy Blues Guitar combines Martin's J
(Jumbo) body style - like the Martin Buddy has played at acoustic
concerts in recent years - with a cutaway for big sound and easy access
to the upper frets. The Sitka spruce top is reinforced with 5/16"
scalloped braces for clear tone and impressive dynamic range. The sides
and Style 35 three-piece back are richly colored East Indian rosewood.
The low profile 1-11/16" (at the nut) neck is carved from genuine
mahogany.
But it is the appointments that really set the JC Buddy Guy Blues Guitar
apart. Buddy likes polka dots on his guitars, and polka dots he got. The
unique rosette features three five-ply black/white rings, the inner two
flanking a ring of turquoise composite dots. Turquoise composite dot
inlays also accent the black ebony belly bridge and the ebony bridge
pins. The black ebony fingerboard provides the palette for a random
splash" of turquoise composite polka dots. Buddy Guy's BG"
initials serve as the position marker at the 12th fret, while mother of
pearl dots, bordered in turquoise, mark the 5th, 7th, 9th and 15th
frets. The black ebony headplate showcases the block letter C. F.
Martin" logo, also inlaid in turquoise composite.
This guitar showcases extraordinary purfling, even for a Signature
Edition Martin. The top features seven-ply, differential width
black/white purfling while the back is encircled by five-ply black/white
fine line purfling. Black/white purfling accents the sides, endpiece,
heelcap, headstock and fingerboard. To show off the purf ling to best
advantage, the guitar is bound in grained ivoroid throughout: body, neck
and headstock. A gloss finish on the body highlights the purfling; the
neck sports a satin finish for playing comfort. The JC Buddy Guy Blues
Guitar is factory equipped with Fishman VT electronics. To simplify on
the fly" adjustments in the tradition of electric blues, the volume
and tone knobs are mounted on the top, just below the bridge and the
polished and beveled black pickguard. Delivered in a Geib style
hardshell case, each Martin JC Buddy Guy Blues Guitar bears an interior
label individually signed by Buddy Guy and Martin Chairman C. F. Martin
IV and is numbered in sequence with the edition total.
The Martin Bellezza Bianca acoustic guitar features a
top crafted from bookmatched Engelmann spruce, treasured by players and
guitar builders alike for its clear, full tone and outstanding balance.
Scalloped 5/16" top braces enhance the top's dynamic range. Bigleaf
flamed maple back and sides contribute bright timbre and impressive
projection. The 1-3/4" (at the nut) modified V-shape neck with
diamond volute is carved from genuine mahogany.
Polished gloss white finish on the body and neck provide the perfect
canvas" for Bellezza Bianca's striking appointments. The
distinctive rosette of slotted diamonds" inlaid on a black
background first seen on Bellezza Nera looks even better on Bellezza
Bianca. Fine pattern herringbone purfling encircles the top and divides
the back. Creamcolored grained ivoroid binding trims the top, back and
side edges, with fine black/white/black line purfling accenting the back
and sides. The grained ivoroid endpiece is likewise accented with
black/white/black inlay. A beveled and polished black pickguard
continues the black and white theme.
Like the Bellezza Nera, Bellezza Bianca's bound and polished black
African ebony headplate showcases the alternative torch" inlay a
design created for one of the first Martin 00-45s in 1902 in vibrant
abalone pearl and special sterling silver-plated mini tuners with
sterling silver-plated buttons. The bound black African ebony
fingerboard, highlighted by mitered black/white line inlay, bears Martin
Style 45 snowflake position markers from the 1st to the 17th fret, and
Bellezza Bianca" in script between the 19th and 20th frets.
To assure superb tone, Bellezza Bianca is fitted with a bone nut and
compensated bone saddle. Carved from black African ebony, the belly
bridge comes equipped with black ebony bridge pins inlaid with abalone
pearl dots; a matching pearl inlaid ebony endpin is also included.
Each Bellezza Bianca is delivered in a distinctive white Geib style case
with white plush lining and features a special white interior label
signed by Eric Clapton, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Martin Artist Relations head
Dick Boak and Martin Chairman C. F. Martin IV.
The 000-42 is the epitome of Martin quality and
design, with a resonant solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood
back and sides. Beautiful detail and cosmetics throughout. Includes
hardshell case.
The new Martin HD7 Roger McGuinn Signature Edition
Acoustic Guitar represents one of the most unusual instruments in
Signature Series history. Featuring a doubled G-string, with the second
string tuned an octave higher, the HD7 guitar captures McGuinn's
signature "jingle-jangle" 12-string sound, but also offers the
versatility to handle single-string runs, leads and bends. The extra
power that the double-G lends to the mid-range sound is startling to
both the player and the listener, and playing the 7-string is intuitive
without requiring any special fingering.
Both headstock and bridge on this unique dreadnought Signature Edition
are modified to handle the extra string. Seven gold Schaller tuners with
ebony buttons installed asymmetrically on the solid, squared headstock -
three on the bass side and four on the treble side - provide smooth,
easy tuning. The belly bridge features a distinctive point under the
seventh string, a "dropped" seventh string anchor and special
2.225" string spacing. A 1-3/4" neck width at the nut provides
plenty of room for the extra string and playing comfort similar to a
standard six-string guitar.
The Roger McGuinn Signature Edition Guitar features classic Martin
quality throughout. The solid Sitka spruce top, solid East Indian
rosewood back and sides, and forward-shifted scalloped top braces assure
rich, powerful tone. A Style 45 abalone pearl rosette surrounds the
soundhole, and a Style 45 multicolored strip accents the bookmatched
back. Bold herringbone purfling encircles the top, black/white fine line
purfling embellishes the sides and back, and all three are bound in
grained ivoroid.
The genuine mahogany modified V neck features a polished East Indian
rosewood headplate on which "C. F. Martin" is inlaid in Style
45 block letters. The black African ebony fingerboard showcases Style 45
abalone hexagon position markers, with a subtle number "7"
inlaid into the first hexagonal fret marker in mother of pearl. Roger
McGuinn's signature is inlaid between the 19th and 20th frets. Both
headplate and fingerboard are bound in grained ivoroid inset with
mitered black/white line inlays. The grained ivoroid heelcap and
endpiece likewise are accented with mitered back/white inlays.
The HD7 Roger McGuinn Signature Edition's top is tinted with vintage
toner and protected by a polished tortoise-colored pickguard. Both the
special nut and compensated saddle are fashioned from genuine bone. The
body showcases a beautiful polished gloss finish, while the neck
receives a satin finish.
Delivered in a Geib-style hardshell case, each HD7 Roger McGuinn
Signature Edition bears an interior numbered label signed by Roger
McGuinn and Martin Chairman C.F. Martin IV.
Solid Adirondack spruce top, solid East Indian
rosewood back and sides, fine herringbone top inlay, solid black ebony
