The tone of the Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic
Guitar is what separates it from all other guitars. This left-handed
version has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East
Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony
fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy
volume, the Martin D-28 is particularly well-suited to music styles
requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment. Martin includes a deluxe
hardshell guitar case and limited lifetime warranty with the D-28

Crafted to evoke the same powerful tone and sonorous
projection as a pre-WWII D-28, the Martin D-28 Marquis Acoustic Guitar
differs only by using the much less scarce, and therefore more
affordable, Indian rosewood instead of Brazilian rosewood. Using only
premium-grade solid Indian rosewood for the back and sides and a solid
Adirondack spruce top, the Marquis Guitar delivers powerful sounds with
scalloped Adirondack spruce braces and forward-shifted X-bracing. A
special aging toner gives the wood a vintage countenance.
The list of historically accurate details, nearly overwhelming and
totally exhaustive, captures the authentic spirit of the Martin D-28:
mahogany blocks/dovetail neck joint construction, slot-through saddle,
herringbone binding, neck dart, zipper back marquetry, ivoroid binding,
herringbone top trim, Waverly butterbean tuners, and old-style wood
fiber rosette.
The Martin D-28 Marquis also has a beveled and polished tortoise
pickguard; ebony bridge with long saddle; modified V-shaped neck; ebony
fretboard (1-3/4" nut, 25-2/5" scale) with diamond and square
inlays; and fossil ivory nut, saddle, and bridgepins (with black dots).
Special Edition Series notables include the Golden Era decal on the
peghead and a special inside label signed by C.F. Martin IV.

This special edition Martin D-28 acoustic guitar was
designed with special features inspired by country and bluegrass master
Clarence White.
Martin Special Editions are just that: specially-designed guitars built
for specific playing styles or designed with special features inspired
by well-known artists, luthiers, dealers and collectors. These
instruments are unique and often built with special woods and
appointments that do not fit" the Martin Standard Series or other
distinct instrument groupings.
The Martin D-28 Authentic Guitar is a hand-constructed
model that draws its inspiration from a stellar 1937 example and employs
the use of hide glue as well as vintage "T" bar neck
reinforcement. Other significant features on the Martin guitar include
an Adirondack red spruce top with circa 1937 sculpted Adirondack
bracing, a nitrate tortoise colored pickguard, Golden Era Style 28
diamonds and squares as fingerboard position markers, grained ivoroid
bindings, black ebony fingerboard and bridge, fossil ivory nut and
saddle, antique white bridge pins and a vintage style case.
