Ozzy Osbourne (born December 3, 1948 in Aston,
as John Michael Osbourne) is a British rock musician.
He is best known as lead singer of the band Black Sabbath, which is
considered influential on Hard Rock, and co-founder of Heavy Metal. As a
solo artist (after the expulsion of Black Sabbath due to drug problems),
he reached from the 80s to the mid 90s several platinum awards. He had
a great influence on the Heavy metal genre. His great influence on
the metal scene gave him the honorary title "Godfather of
Metal", and "Prince of Darkness". Part of his success is
also his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne. She organized, and founded,
with the help of Ozzy, in 1996 the Ozzfest.
Ozzy won new awareness in 2002 with the reality show "The
Osbournes". The Show showed insights of the family life of the
Osbournes.
