Peter Paul Mary
| Year formed: 1961 (disbanded 1970) Band members:
Peter Yarrow (born in 1938), Noel Stookey ("Paul" born in 1937),
Mary Travers (born in 1936)
Instruments/roles: guitars, vocals, composers
Profile: Peter, Paul and Mary were the most successful folk band
of the 1960s. They had all performed separately in folk clubs and coffee
houses before being brought together by promoter Albert Grossman. They
produced a smooth, professional sound that won them a far wider audience
than most other folk musicians of the time. As a result, several of their
songs topped the charts. |

Easy Walk To Freedom (1988)
This collection of lesser-known songs by '60s folk greats Peter, Paul
& Mary will probably best appeal to die-hard fans. It is a fun album
that delivers everything one would expect from the trio: simple acoustic
guitar melodies, great harmonies, ...
