| Skinny Puppy is an Post-Industrial-/Electronica-Band,
who was founded in 1982 in Vancouver, Canada.
Inspired by pioneers in experimental music, such as Throbbing Gristle,
portion control, power plant or Cabaret Voltaire, and also post-punk bands
like Bauhaus, and Killing Joke, Skinny Puppy are experimenting with
electronic recording processes.
Because of their interest in the medium of film, they produced a number
of music videos to illustrate the theme of their songs, which were,
however, not broadcasted, or rarely, from music channels, the video
for Worlock was practically not sent worldwide, and was never available
for purchase, because they used a large number of copyright-protected
material. Their concerts are legendary because of the bizarre, and bloody
performance art with which they wanted to challenge the visitors. Skinny
Puppy has been, and is playing with some danceable songs in clubs, but
never reached the commercial radio.
