Third Day
| Third Day is an American Christian rock band formed in
Marietta in the 1990s by lead singer Mac Powell and guitarist Mark Lee.
The other band members are Tai Anderson (bass), David Carr (drums) and
Scott Wilbanks (keyboards). The name is an allusion from the Bible in
which Jesus, rose after his crucifixion on the third day.
The band's style is usually referred to as Southern Rock, and is reminiscent of bands like Counting Crows or as the voice of singer Mac Powell, of Hootie & the Blowfish. While the Debut album "third Day" was still strongly influenced by acoustic guitar, the following album called "Conspiracy No.5" in 1997 is a very experimental record. The album "Time" had its special character, by the fact that the songs were recorded in each case by the whole band in the studio, and not, as usual, each instrument individually. Between the regular studio albums, the band always played known Christian songs, among other things they brought out a pure Christmas album. In the U.S., the band won several musical awards.
